Dear lovely customers and followers,
We hope you’re well and staying safe. If you’re at home – we hope you’ve not gone too stir crazy, and if you’re at work – much the same.
We’re missing the buzz of our lovely cafe and the inquisitive book lovers who pile through our doors one after another, but we know that we’ll get back to all that as soon as we can.
In the meantime, don’t forget that you can get The Bookbarn Experience from the comfort and safety of your own home by browsing our website. You can take a look at our fiction; from historical to crime & thrillers, or you can check out our brilliant selection of Children’s books or pick up a new hobby with our Arts and Crafts books. We’ve got a huge range of titles just waiting for you.
The purpose of this post, however, is not to remind you of our brilliant website (that was just a happy happenstance), but to remind you that when we reopen, we’ll be virtually begging for your book donations. Whatever you’ve got, we want it. Whether it be your Granddad’s old History books or your childhood reading material, we can find a place for it here at Bookbarn.
Due to having been closed for two months, we’ve worked through the endless piles of books (even the ones we thought we’d NEVER get through) and sorted through every hidden corner to find the best titles to add to our online stock. This has left our stock somewhat depleted, as the generosity of our brilliant customers and vendors is what keeps our eclectic shelves full.
We’re hoping you’ll help us get books back onto our shelves, and in return we offer a loyalty card, with which you can get a free book and a coffee, and you may also choose for the money made from your books to go to local charity SWALLOW, a cause very close to our hearts.
We’re looking to work with even more local charities whose work focuses on the things that matter most to us as a business; literacy, accessibility, sustainability and more. If you know a charity you think might benefit from working with us, get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01761451333.
SO – if you’ve had a Spring Clean, a Declutter, or a general Tidy Round and have books to move, let us know! If you’re local or have a particularly large quantity, we can arrange to collect them (whilst implementing social distancing measures) from your home. For smaller quantities – say, under 200, we hope you’ll be patient with us and bring them over when we’re back to normal.
Lastly, we want to say that we’re grateful for any and all support you’ve offered us in this tough time, and we are working hard to create an extensive plan for when we reopen so that we can get back to enjoying our bookshop with you all.
As always, take care and stay safe,
The Bookbarn Team x
