We hope you’re well and staying safe. If you’re at home – we hope you’ve not gone too stir crazy, and if you’re at work – much the same.

We’re missing the buzz of our lovely cafe and the inquisitive book lovers who pile through our doors one after another, but we know that we’ll get back to all that as soon as we can.

New Year, New Books

You may have noticed if you’ve paid us a visit that we’ve recently created a large space in our entrance area for new books of varying prices. We’re very excited about this change, as it’s bringing us some high quality, interesting books, that still fit in with the rest of our stock, as they’re all different and you may not find them in your usual high street bookshop.

We have a range of different subjects available, from fiction, to memoirs, to photography books, there’s even some particularly interesting looking Encyclopedias.

A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

And what a year it has been!

Plenty of change and growth has happened in 2018 for Bookbarn, including renovations to our lovely Full Stop Café, shop changes, new staff and new services.

We want to say thank you to all of our new and old customers who have made this such a brilliant year for us, and we look forward to everything that awaits us in 2019.

Our Favourite Spooky Books

October brings us cold weather, multicoloured leaves and trees, and spooky carved pumpkins, and for us here at Bookbarn, it means entertaining all of our little half term visitors to the best of our ability.

We’ve had lots of painted faces, silly headbands and scary masks visiting us this week, so we’ve being seeing out the season in a brilliant way. Before we move into Winter, which for us means Craft Fayre planning, recommending Christmas presents and putting up our Book Tree, we wanted to (belatedly) celebrate All Hallows’ Eve in our own special way, by making a list of our favourite spooky/horror/thriller books.
